Make One Thing Work

Everywhere you turn you'll find people offering some kind of magic potion for success in business or life.

Fast results.

Easy steps.

Big money.

You see these claims over and over again.  Yet the overwhelming majority of people who buy into these potions never realize the promise.  In fact, most give up soon after getting started.

Listen, success isn't about a magic potion, a lucky four-leaf clover, or a genie in a bottle.

Real results begin with the decision to make one thing work.

Making one thing work is mastering a singular method or approach in your business or life.  It's finding and focusing on the one thing you can become very good at.

This is not what most people do.

Most people jump from one thing to the next.

We reason,"surely the answer must be in the next ebook, product or seminar."

The answer is rarely out there.

The answer, more times than not, is acting on what you already know, and what you already have in your hand.

And when you strip away all of the distractions and focus, something amazing happens: you make progress.

In Life -

The giant revelation that continues to be a breakthrough for me is the realization that I am great at one, maybe two things -- and that I stink at virtually everything else.  This is not a negative.  In fact, it's liberating.

The Jerry Seinfeld Productivity Secret is an application of this.  Out of the fifty things you could do in any area of life, there is one thing that is the starting point, one thing that really moves you forward.

That's the real secret, identifying and working on that one thing.

Coming to this understanding gives you permission to focus.  And focus in life, precedes success.

In Business, and Specifically Online Business -

The thing that trips most people up when it comes to making money online is attempting to do too many different things.

They dabble in this, try that, and spread themselves too thin.

No one has the time to learn and implement all the different possibilities in business.

To succeed, you must mind one thing that works - just ONE model - that makes you money.

Then, make that one thing work.

There are really only three basic things you need to make money online. There are dozens of different methods, thousands of tools, and millions of opinions, but after 18 years online, I can confidently say, there are just three fundamental things that are necessary.

What are the three things:

(1) a website,

(2) an email autoresponder, and

(3) an offer.

Everything else is trimming on the tree.

What is one thing that has actually worked in the last 90 days?

What is the one thing I know to do right now?

Write down your answers.

Identify your one thing.

Write down the steps involved.

Schedule time to actually do it.

Then, make your one thing work.
